The event is organised by the Research Network Theory of History. Speakers are Maria Grever (NL-LAB and professor emeritus at ESHCC) and Ann Rigney (Utrecht University).

Both speakers are member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and participated in the KNAW-committee “Controversial Monuments”.  On October 23, 2023, the committee presented the report “Wankele sokkels. Omstreden monumenten in de openbare ruimte (Unstable Pedestals. Contested Monuments in Public Spaces)”.
