This interactive presentation is about finding a clear and respectful way of communicating that ensures that your message reaches a broad, diverse group of people; that the message is understood and heard by this group; and that this message makes people feel included.

During this session, Joris van den Ring-Bax, communications advisor at the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access (IDEA) Center, will share his knowledge and give you tips and tricks on inclusive communication (definition and importance), inclusive language (words matter), inclusive visuals (photography, videography, graphics, AI), accessibility of communication, inclusive content (it is about the whole package) and about (the influence of media makers on) perception and (harmful) stereotyping.

Joris van den Ring-Bax has been working as a communications advisor at IDEA Center since 2022, where he is all-round engaged in communications: website, newsletters, social media, events, and strategic (communications) advice. He also regularly gives presentations on inclusive communication, internally and externally. In recent years he has gained a lot of experience in this area and is happy to share his knowledge and insights during this interactive session.
