In 2018-2019, Erasmus University Rotterdam celebrates her 105th birthday. During this 21st lustrum, with the theme 'Science Meets City', meetings between the inhabitants of Rotterdam, academics and organisations in the city are at the forefront of the programme. The year will be festively opened at the Laurens Church, where several speakers will talk about diversity and the importance of diversity within the university.
Programme
How will Erasmus University Rotterdam works towards an academic environment where people from all backgrounds can feel at home and develop themselves to their personal best? President Kristel Baele will provide some insight into the ways diversity plays a role in the new strategy of our university.
Guest speaker
Like previous years, a special guest speaker is invited. Natalia Goncharova, Director Structured Finance, Risk & Portfolio Management at ABN AMRO Corporate & Institutional Banking, will discuss her vision on the importance of masculine and feminine values in the economy and in science.
After the lectures, the University Prizes will be awarded.
Finally, the recently appointed Rector Magnificus Prof. Rutger Engels will officially open the academic year of 2018-2019.
