That the weather in the Netherlands is unpredictable, we all know. On top of that, the soil is moving and our climate is changing. KNMI studies the opportunities and risks this presents for our safety and prosperity, and how we can best prepare ourselves. KNMI's forecasting office is on standby 24/7 to warn the Dutch when dangerous or extreme weather is imminent.
As a former ESHCC student, you have the unique opportunity - weather permitting! - to visit KNMI's weather room. Here, meteorologists monitor the weather 24/7 and make up-to-date weather forecasts. You will also hear how KNMI will respond to the changing climate and social demands over the coming years by issuing earlier and more accurate warnings. We will conclude the afternoon with some drinks at KNMI.

Behind The Scenes
The alumni event at the KNMI is the second event in a series of "Behind The Scenes" visits that the faculty is organising in 2023/2024. As faculty, we see that our alumni end up in interesting and inspiring (work)places in society. With the "Behind The Scenes" series, we want to open up these workplaces to fellow alumni to show where other alumni end up, to give a unique insight into the ins and outs of an organisation, and to bring ESHCC alumni together.
