From 24 to 26 May, the Rotterdam Rooftop Days will take place. During this annual festival, the city's largely empty rooftop landscape is transformed into a festive and welcoming place for tens of thousands of people.

On Thursday 23 May, Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication (ESHCC) will be organising an evening for ESHCC alumni in collaboration with the Rotterdam Rooftop Days organisation.
We will gather at Luchtpark Hofbogen, for a glimpse "behind the scenes" where the festival location is being built up, while we hear from former ESHCC students Nikki Kamps (Director Rotterdam Rooftop Days) and Annabel Draaijers (Project Secretary and fundraiser Rotterdam Rooftop Days) about the interdisciplinary practice in which (performing) arts, architecture and making the city more sustainable come together.
After the short welcome & introduction talk, we will walk together to the roof of the Hofpoort for the theatre performance 'Dressed for Space' (in English). We will end the evening with some networking drinks at BIRD.
About Dressed for Space
In this absurdist comedy about urban roofs, fantasy and freedom, we are drawn into a story that is about accepting ourselves, being comfortable in our own bodies and minds and striving to feel connected to our collective space.

Behind the scenes
The alumni event during the Rotterdam Rooftop Days is the third event in a series of 'Behind The Scenes' visits organised by the faculty in 2023/2024. As faculty, we see that our alumni end up in interesting and inspiring (work)places in society. With the "Behind The Scenes" series, we want to open up these workplaces to fellow alumni to show where other alumni end up, to give a unique insight into the ins and outs of an organisation, and to bring ESHCC alumni together.Rotterdam Rooftop Days
Rotterdam Rooftop Days is a cultural institution that combines creativity and artistic vision with policy, design, architecture, ecology and more. Not just in Rotterdam, but in cities across Europe. Once a year, the festival turns Rotterdam's 'roof landscape' into a stage for both the city's social, cultural, artistic and spatial ambitions and engages city dwellers in the design of the built environment.
