Located opposite the Boijmans Van Beuningen Depot in the beautiful Museumpark in Rotterdam, you will find the Nieuwe Instituut: the national museum for architecture, design and digital culture. The National Collection of Dutch Architecture and Urban Planning consists of no less than 700 archives and collections of Dutch architects, with a total of over 4 million documents.

As a former ESHCC student, you have the unique opportunity to explore some realised and unrealised projects in Rotterdam during a guided tour. You also have the chance to see the scale model of the Markthal. Finally, you will discover what architect W.J. Neutelings had in mind for the area between the southern edge of The Hague and Rotterdam. We will conclude the evening with some drinks in Het Nieuwe Café.

Behind The Scenes
The alumni evening at the Nieuwe Instituut is a first event in a series of "Behind The Scenes" visits that the faculty is organising in 2023/2024. As faculty, we see that our alumni end up in interesting and inspiring (work)places in society. With the "Behind The Scenes" series, we want to open up these workplaces to fellow alumni to show where other alumni end up, to give a unique insight into the ins and outs of an organisation, and to bring ESHCC alumni together.
