Academic Advisor

For Medicine students and Research Master’s students
Studenten praten in het onderwijscentrum

The academic advisors at Erasmus MC provide information and guidance on study-related questions to help every student achieve academic success.

A lot of information about your programme can be found on STIP and Canvas. Please read this information first before making an appointment with an academic advisor.

When should you see an academic advisor?

  • need someone to talk to or to spar with
  • are ill or have a sick family member
  • are not feeling well
  • are dealing with a functional impairment
  • are a long term caregiver
  • are dealing with other stressful circumstances that could (potentially) negatively affect your study and/or well-being

The academic advisors act as consultants to the Examination Board and the Programme Director when students wish to request an exception to the rules. It is therefore important that they are well-informed if any personal circumstances may be negatively affecting a student’s study.

Information shared with the academic advisors is confidential and will not be shared with others without permission.

Appointments

You can meet with the academic advisors by appointment from Monday to Friday. Appointments can be held in person, by phone, or online (via Microsoft Teams video call). For phone appointments, please note you will be called from an anonymous number.

Click here to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor. If you have not received an appointment confirmation email, please check your spam folder.

If you cannot attend your appointment, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance via the link in your confirmation email. This allows another student to book the newly available time slot. No-shows or late cancellations will be recorded.

Clinical interns (Coassistenten)

If you are a clinical intern and unable to arrange an appointment at the available times in the booking system, please send an email to studieadviseur.gnk@erasmusmc.nl with your phone number and a few options for when you are reachable. An academic advisor will contact you as soon as possible.

The academic advisors are also reachable via email:

These email addresses are only intended for substantive questions and not for making appointments (except for clinical interns who are unable to arrange an appointment at the available times in the booking system).

If you are enrolled at EUR, please send emails from your EUR student email account (123456ab@student.eur.nl).
