A brand-new Erasmus MC Graduate School degree – the first Research Master to combine deep knowledge of genomics with ethics, communication, governance, psychology and entrepreneurship, is ready to kick-off in September 2022, pending the accreditation in June.
A conditionally positive advice from the accreditation panel
Last month the research Master Genomics in Society received a conditionally positive advice during the initial accreditation assessment (in Dutch: Toets Nieuwe Opleiding). This means that it is expected to be receiving the accreditation from the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO).
Genomics in Society
The two-year Genomics in Society program trains genomics researchers who know how to link science and society. For these researchers, positive social impact is the starting point. To get there, they do interdisciplinary scientific research in which society is involved from the start.
Blending interdisciplinary knowledge with design thinking, the programme will offer a different kind of creativity, and a new approach to identify genomic issues from society and develop solutions that have the potential of direct societal impact.
The application for the academic year 2022-2023 is still open, find out more on the programme page.
