Biography

Ivo Sarjanovic has held various trading and management roles at Cargill before becoming the CEO of Alvean, the world's largest sugar trader. Since 2018, he has been a member of the board as a non-executive director at Adecoagro and Sucafina, and an advisor to the board of the Arab Bank of Switzerland.

In June 2024, Ivo joined the board of Minerva Foods as a non-executive director. Minerva Foods, a Brazilian based public quoted company, it is the largest beef exporter in South America, holding a 35% market share, representing 15% of global trade. The company operates in Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, and Australia. 

Ivo is also a lecturer, he lectures at the University of Geneva on the Agricultural Commodities course. Furthermore, Ivo holds a Master's in Economics from the Francisco Marroquin University in Spain and a Diploma in Theology from the Navarra University in Spain.

In 2022, he co-authored his latest book, Commodities as an Asset Class, with Alan Futerman, published in November 2022 by Palgrave MacMillan.
