The Fundamental Paradox in Luke’s Perception of Money and Property

In an article in the Festschrift dedicated to Bart Koet, Paul van Geest points out a fundamental paradox that is present in Luke’s gospel on the subject of money and property. The paradox lies in the fact that Luke all the while accepts their usefulness and even necessity to practice virtues, but at the same time considers them obstacles to the freedom and carefreeness that is inherent in the discipleship of Christ.

The article is dedicated to Bart Koet. Read it through the link above.
