Biography
Tika Tresnawati is a PhD researcher of Political Ecology Research Group at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS, The Hague) of Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her research focuses on the relevance of political ecology perspectives for rural youth in policy towards farmer generational renewal program and sustainable agriculture in Indonesia. She has intensive work experiences in research project, policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation and organizational management towards building capacities of individuals and institutions in the areas of rural development and agrarian transformation in Indonesia, youth in agricultural policy, agricultural extension, climate-smart and precision agriculture, social change and approaches to the diffusion and adoption of agricultural innovation in Indonesia.
She holds a Master’s Degree on Communication for Agriculture and Rural Development (KMP) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) through the Graduate Development Scholarships (GDS) as part of the partnership between SEARCA and DAAD Annual Scholarships Program.
She joined the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture in 2019 and recently involved in several action research projects namely Strengthening Capacity Building and Partnership among Agricultural Extension Providers in Indonesia, Empowering Rural Youth and Women in Agricultural Communities Through Digital Solutions, and Creating an Enabling Environment for Rural Youth Entrepreneurship. Before joining the Ministry of Agriculture, she had the opportunity to work for more than 10 years in the field of Knowledge Management Development at SEAMEO BIOTROP, Regional Centre for Tropical Biology, as a Supervisor at the Information Management and Public Relations Unit and concurrently serving as Managing Editor of the journal BIOTROPIA, one of the indexed journals in SciVerse Scopus in Indonesia (Q3). She also facilitated training, seminars and workshop to support sustainable community empowerment of SEAMEO BIOTROP's target villages.
Her research has been published in several scientific books and publication namely:
