Biography
My area of expertise spans across the theme of state-society relations, especially in the context of tribal societies in insurgency affected areas of India. My immediate area of focus is Jharkhand, situated in the eastern part of the country. I have previously worked on examining the emergence and spread of Maoist Movement in the eastern and central parts of India. This was followed by eight months of fieldwork in Jharkhand, studying the role of State and insurgents in the everyday lives of the tribals. In my current capacity as a PhD resarcher, I look at State from a tribal positioning to understand the various way and means of effectuatung change in such insurgency affected regions.
