Biography
Müge Tekin is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management at the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University (Netherlands). Before joining RSM, Müge worked at Imperial College Business School (UK) as a postdoctoral researcher. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Operations Management from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain) and a Masters in Industrial Engineering from Koç University (Turkey). Her research interests are at the interface of Operations, Marketing and Economics. Specifically, she is interested in business analytics and competitive intelligence for service firms (e.g. restaurants, hotels). She works on business problems from an operations perspective, using both internal and market/competitor data. She combines this cross-sectional data with models (e.g. machine learning, econometrics) to understand customer behavior and firm operations. Her focus is on practical applications of those frameworks to inform better business decisions.
