Biography
I am currently in the last stage of the Ph.D. program at the International Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University Rotterdam. My current research explores ways in which learning practices from herding and formal education shape how children of Mongolian herders (youth in secondary education) relate to their social and natural landscapes, and how this straddling between different knowledges impacts their aspirations. In this research project, I experiment with the combination of ethnography, visual participatory research methods, qualitative surveys, and interviews in an effort to move towards a relational approach to a youth-centered inquiry. My research interests are located at the nexus between rural-urban youth development, education, indigenous knowledges, and the Anthropocene.
