DAP (Daan) Peeters, MSc

Biography

Daan Peeters is a PhD Candidate in the Business-Society Management Department at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. His research explores how diverse actors sustain engagement with pressing social and environmental problems, focusing on alternative organizational approaches in agriculture, food, and climate activism. Drawing on studies of grand challenges, collective action, decoupling, and interaction rituals, he employs qualitative methods to uncover how collaborations emerge and endure—or sometimes fail—when tackling complex problems. Daan has actively participated in initiatives such as “For The Harvest of Tomorrow,” “Bioregional Weaving Labs Collective,” and the “Robin Food Coalition,” gaining first-hand insight into multi-stakeholder transitions toward sustainability.

Beyond his doctoral research, Daan teaches and coordinates courses at the bachelor, master, and MBA levels, and supervises master's theses on business and sustainability. Prior to joining academia, he served as a research consultant, advising public and private organizations on strategy, change, and sustainability.

Daan holds two cum laude master’s degrees—an MSc in People, Organizations and Change and an MSc in Global Business and Sustainability—from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. He also studied at the University of California, Berkeley (magna cum laude) through the UC Education Abroad Program and completed his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences (cum laude) at University College Roosevelt, Utrecht University.
