Interaction vision
What
An interaction vision uses an analogy to describe how your solution leads to a given outcome.
Why
Drawing up an interaction vision helps you reflect on the qualities and characteristics needed for a solution. The analogy allows for better recognition as well as stimulating creativity.
How
- Describe the issue or problem and the target group you are designing a solution for.
- Define the desired outcome(s) you want your solution to achieve.
- Think about analogies that strikingly convey the solution’s qualities and characteristics. Complete the following sentence to arrive at an analogy: The solution should work like / be comparable to ...
- Identify the elements of the analogy that cause the description to be so striking.
- Formulate your interaction vision: In order to achieve [outcome] for [target group], the solution should work like [analogy]; that is, it should have the following qualities: [qualities]. For example: In order to achieve mutual understanding between quarrelling neighbours, the solution should work like a peace pipe; that is, it should have the following qualities: symbolic, reparative, respectful.
