Inappropriate behavior can occur in many ways: think of bullying, sexual harassment, intimidation, discrimination. It is not always clear when Inappropriate behavior occurs. What is Inappropriate for one person may be a joke for another. The boundaries between these can sometimes be blurred, but the possible consequences enormous. It is therefore important that we are all aware of this -- students, faculty and staff alike -- and raise the alarm in a timely manner if there is or appears to be transgressive behavior.
In fact, the faculty and programme of Medicine can only take action, help students or take possible measures if inappropriate behavior is formally reported to us. We can imagine that a report can be experienced as a threshold, because students are afraid of possible bad evaluations or other consequences, for example. For that reason, various student counselors are available to whom students can turn.
